15 Weeks..

Hi Everyone!!  It has been a crazy month.. I meant to post updates but my personal life got crazy and hectic..   Things are finally settling down.. I think!  ha!

So we are now 15weeks!!  Woohoo!!   How time flies by !

Things are going well with the pregnancy.  I had a really good week (around 13weeks) where I thought morning sickness was a thing of the past.  Naturally these twins had to prove differently to me.  Yep, back to puking again.. :sigh:.  It can't last forever, right?  ha!

I was supposed to see my OB for a normal check up last Weds but we had a big snow storm and I had to reschedule it.  So I get to see her in 2 days instead.  It feels so odd to go so long without seeing her when I was seeing her every other week in the beginning :)   I should enjoy it while it lasts because I know that I'll be in there a lot as the pregnancy progresses!

In other news- in just a few short weeks, my IPs will be here to visit!! WOOHOO!!  I can't wait ! I'm super excited to finally meet them in person :)  Plus while they are here, we are doing not only the anatomy scan at my OB's office (can't wait to know for sure the sex of the twins!!) but also doing a 3/4D ultrasound for fun and pictures!

I can finally feel the babies moving around if I lay still.  I'm also becoming a pro at using the fetal doppler that my IM sent me.  One baby is almost always in the same spot on my right and the other baby is usually on my left but is ornery and likes to move around a lot.  Ha!   Last night I was listening to the heartbeats.  Checked right side-  There's the baby!  Good baby!  Checked the left side, there's the other one..  Back to right to listen to him/her one more time.. And then I did a silly thing... I checked the middle.  My hubby is always teasing me that there is another one in there hiding.  There was a heartbeat in the middle! Ack! ha!   I went back to the left side and that baby was gone..  Naughty left side baby snuck to the middle to try to make me think I found an extra heartbeat.. HA!  I am saying it now-  Baby on the right is my favorite. He/She behaves and doesn't try to trick me.. lol.

The belly is finally growing some.   I think it popped out overnight !!   It's still easiest seen when laying down and the 'fluff" falls to the side.. lol.  Here's a comparison shot from 14 to 15 weeks.

15 weeks

See growth !!  Later that same day I took this picture standing up b/c I felt like OMG my belly just popped out..

lookin down..  15 weeks

I couldn't believe that it was popped so big all the sudden!!  EEEK!  ha!   I'm sure my IM will be happy to see that :)   I still haven't gained any weight but I'm not concerned :)

15 Weeks Pregnant -

Your growing baby is now roughly the size of an apple !   She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs to develop.  Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she came move all her joints and limbs.  Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light.  If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, she's likely to move away from the beam . (hmm something to try..lol).  Your baby is also forming tastebuds!

*note, since we have twins, they may not be quite as large as the average baby but developmentally should be doing the same thing. *

  1. I’m so happy for you! I believe it's your second trimester now, right? This is the most critical stage of pregnancy, so it is best to take extra good care of yourself. Aside from eating healthy, you can try some exercises, like taking short walks or doing some mild stretching. Doing a bit of exercise helps prepare your body and keeps your muscles from being too dormant. And at the very least, it gives you something to do before the awkward part sets in. Take care!
